Gisa DiIorio – Owner/Director/Teacher

Gisa is a graduate of Allentown College, now DeSales University in Pennsylvania, with a BA degree in Dance, where she was also a member of the Dance Society and a teacher at their Conservatory.  Her performance experience includes Le Tour De Danse, a touring dance company based in Pennsylvania.  Her choreography has received several honors and was performed at the American College Dance Festival in New England.  For the past six years Gisa has been the chronographer for the Scotch Plains/Fanwood High School Rep Theater.  She has choreographed Anything Goes, Mame, Footloose, Les Miserables, West Side Story and is currently choreographing 42nd Street.  Gisa is the directory of Company 2000, a select group of students who perform and compete, and is very proud of their accomplishments.

For 15 years, Gisa has passed on her knowledge and love of dance to her students.  She finds much happiness and pride teaching dance to her wonderful students and choreographing musicals for such talented high school student.  She will always continue to share her love of dance.

Michele Ferrara

Michele has been taking dance classes from a young age and has been with Dance 2000 since it opened in 1990.  She became an assistant teacher in 1996.  Upon her graduation from Scotch Plains/Fanwood High School in 1998m Michele continued her studies in ballet and modern dance at the Middlesex County College where she earned her associates degree in Liberal Arts with an option in dance in May of 2000.  She graduated from Kean University in 2003.

Michele has been a teacher of ballet, tap, jazz and pointe at Dance 2000 since 1999.  She continues to further her education in dance by participating in various conventions and classes throughout New Jersey and New York.  Most of all, her knowledge of dance comes from the guidance of Gisa DiIorio, a wonderful teacher, mentor and friend.  Once a member of Company 2000 herself, she is very excited to now participate in the choreographing and training of the new Company 2000 dancers.

Michele is very grateful to have been given the opportunity to share her knowledge of dance in such a wonderful studio.  She couldn’t imagine a better team of students, parents, teachers, and friends than the ones at Dance 2000.  Thank you to all who have made this experience so special. very proud of their accomplishments.

Diane Ferrara

Diane began her training at of dance at the age of seven at Dance 2000.  She is currently a teacher at Dance 2000 and a choreographer for Company 2000.  Diane brings over 15 years of training and experience to her student at Dance 2000.  She has gained a vast amount of training and knowledge of dance from being a student of Gisa’s since Dance 2000 opened in 1990.  After Diane graduated from high school, she went on to pursue her dance career at the County college of Morris, where she received an Associates Degree in Fine Arts with dance as her major.  There, she endured intensive training in modern, ballet and choreography.  She was also a dancer and a choreographer for the college’s Dance Theater Group.  In 2002 her collaborated choreography was performed at the American College Dance Festival Association in Boston, MA.  Diane continues to expand her knowledge of dance through extensive training at conventions and classes throughout New York City and New Jersey.  Diane is grateful to be a part of Dance 2000’s family and she is extremely excited to be a part of the studio’s future.

Alyson Steinzhorn

Alyson graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2003.  She has studied modern with Randy James, Raegan Sanders, Julia Ritter and John Evans; and ballet with Sherry Alban and Stuart Loungeway.  She won the Turner Choreography award in 2003 and her work has been showcased in faculty concerts and University Dance Works.  She currently studies ballet at the Princeton Ballet School.  This is her first year with Dance 2000.
